Safety Terms (Email scams)
Be extremely careful when asked to send your personal details via email, text messaging (sms) or even phone calls. You are most probably being scammed!

C.M. Autotrader Ltd will never ask for your personal details such as your username and password or credit card details via email. If you ever receive an email or text message asking for your personal information, we urge you to notify C.M. Autotrader Ltd right away.

A number of scenarios that may be used for fraud against you, without being limited to just these, are:
* You receive a suspicious email that contains an advertisement from our Website and a link below it that takes you to another website which looks exactly the same as http://www.autotrader.com.cy and prompts you to enter your username and password. If you are suspicious (and you should be!) about the sender of the email you should visit our website without following the link in the email. However, in case you do follow the link, be extremely cautious of what you are doing.
* You receive a phone call from someone claiming to be a member of the staff of C.M. Autotrader Ltd and needs your credit card details for a refund.
* You receive an offer from C.M. Autotrader to post an advertisement for your car in the magazine and in case your car is not sold within (say) three (3) weeks you get your money back.
* You receive an “invitation” from a social networking site for joining a group of C.M. Autotrader Ltd prompting you to join with a message like “Have a look at your car advertisement!”
* You receive a text message asking you to participate in a contest / draw and get a chance to win a free membership to our website for a specified limit of time.

In order to avoid being scammed be sure that you follow the guidelines below:

* always visit our website for any updates or more information on contests, draws and participation of C.M. Autotrader in social networking sites.
* avoid following links embedded in emails and always confirm that the person you are speaking to is an authorised member of our staff.
* think twice before calling or returning calls on premium rate numbers (beginning with “090”) or foreign phone numbers as they are most probably fraudulent and you will be overcharged.
* avoid transferring money to the seller’s bank account in the case you have not met him/her or he/she does not seem to be trustworthy enough, especially if he/she is not a Cyprus resident.

In case you become suspicious or you are not sure about anything please call us at 7000086 or send an email to info ( at )autotradercy.com.
